2 Dates Through Oct 16, 2016

ABOUT ABOUT

This annual living history festival transports visitors back in time to experience life in the Great Lakes region beginning with the arrival of French Fur Traders in the 1670s and ending with Indiana’s Statehood in 1816. With the backdrop of the beautiful Elkhart River, visitors can discover over 150 reenactors portraying many cultural groups camped within the prairie grass. Voyageurs will traverse the river to a recreated Woodland Native Village to trade furs. Music groups Fiddlesix and the Voyageur Ancient Fife and Drum Corps will parade the event grounds performing songs of the 18th Century. Visitors can hear the roar of musket fire as tensions between British, French, American, and Native soldiers erupt in a recreated prairie skirmish. Nonstop action ensures that everyone will find something to love at this annual celebration of local history. The Gathering at Five Medals has been designated an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project.
