The Elkhart County Historical Society Annual Meeting is an opportunity for the community to become involved in the preservation of local history and experience unique historical programming at the Elkhart County Historical Museum.

This year's meeting includes an elegant dinner catered by Bread & Chocolate of Goshen and will feature an intimate presentation by Curator of Collections Liz Fisher of the recently acquired Jack Cooper Collection. Using artifacts and documents from the collection, Fisher will tell the incredible story of World War II Navy aviator Jack Cooper's life, ordeal at sea, and efforts of his family to honor him after his death. This will be an unforgettable evening and opportunity to strengthen the preservation and celebration of local history and culture.

Program Schedule:

5:30-6:30 - Museum opens for guests
6:30-7:15 - Buffet meal, provided by Bread & Chocolate
7:15-7:25 - Remarks by Elkhart County Historical Society President Larry App
7:25-8:15 - Presentation of the Jack Cooper Story by Elkhart County Historical Museum Curator of Collections Liz Fisher and Wanda Hoffman
8:15-8:20 - Concluding remarks by Elkhart County Historical Society Advancement Committee Chair Hugh Johnson
8:20-9:00 - Guests are free to tour the museum and intermingle

Information and vendor booths will be set up at the event representing a variety of local historical and heritage opportunities. Guests are encouraged to peruse at their leisure.
